SKG successfully created the design concept
for this custom-lot
residential community while the property was within the Maricopa
County jurisdictional limit. The most prominent challenge was to
balance the design components within this steep slope’s elegance
(15 to 35%). To attain this balance, SKG implemented innovative street
designs that followed the natural terrain. Rock and boulder features
were used to mitigate slopes and grade differentials, and to manage
stormwater issues. An enclosed sanitary sewer lift-station with below-ground
grinders was also designed to decrease noise and odor.
